Warmth
In this project, a sequence of spaces unfolded over the course of many years, fulfilling the client’s long-range master plan.
The initial phase of the project added a large family room that linked to the adjacent kitchen and historic structure through a new breakfast area creating a gathering space. In anticipation of a pool, a shower area was added for future pool-using guests, as was a mudroom. The new spaces of the addition were designed to be visually and functionally open to the yard. The pool has since been installed and the final built form has coalesced into a warm and inviting family space, the result of good planning and design foresight.
