This large pool house was designed to give the clients the feeling of being on vacation without ever leaving the backyard. Working in collaboration with the builder and homeowner, a location was identified in the existing beautifully landscaped gardens.

The design accommodates many amenities including a wood burning fireplace, wet bar and small serving kitchen, changing room, powder room and private outdoor shower.  While the structure needed to be light and airy it also required privacy. The plan was composed of a series of pavilions connected by flowing transitional spaces. The rooflines echo traditional details from the surrounding Ruxton neighborhood. The resulting design showcases the use of impeccable materials evident in the stonework, bluestone pavers, copper roof and crisp, white woodwork. Elegant details abound, like the raised hearth fireplace with log storage tucked discreetly into its side and the trusses traversing the vaulted ceiling sitting area.
